Oipolloi Newsletter 1 - August 08th 2008

We’re a bit thin on the ground for the next couple of weeks so we’ll leave the clothes to do most of the talking. We’ll go straight into this week’s featured brand, it’s that good there’s no time to rattle on unnecessarily. Our good friend Oliver Spencer has taken gold this week at the Oi Polloi Olympics, with possibly his finest collection to date. His clothing just gets better and better and this lot is about as Oi Polloi as it’s ever been. There will be more to follow but take a look at this little lot for starters, there’s plenty to get your teeth into here; polo’s and Henley’s in strong colours, ace shirts in good cloths with subtle quirks, the ‘clash’ jumper is colossal, words can’t do it justice, it’s that good. It might not seem like jumper weather yet, but don’t sleep on these, you’ll be sorry, you’ve been warned.

We’ve also received a really strong range from Levi’s Vintage this week, classic vintage Levi’s workwear, plaid lumberjack overshirts in red & black and grey & yellow, and an amazing heavy knit cardi jacket. The mackinaw wool coat is the real killer piece for us, it’s not easy being warm and looking good, this will do the job nicely. There’s also a blanket wool lined type I denim jacket, which has been super rare until now, and the option of a rinse finish 505, nicely done, looks like a natural fade for once.

You may have noticed we’ve added crocodile leather Toy Watch straps to the site. We’ve customised a few ourselves and have to say they look even better than we’d imagined. Anyone wanting to customise a watch they already own, it’s easily done (with a knife or small screw driver), or we can of course do it for you. They just fit standard size Daytona’s, Crystals and GMT’s, but we hope to have oversize in stock early September. Check out the Toy Watch page to see how good they look… you’ll also notice two new styles, a new red Crystal with red & black bezel and an old style Daytona with gunmetal grey face, both winners in our eyes. We have some more Fluo to arrive next week including more White at long last. Place a request if you’d like to receive an email when they land.

Plenty of other bits and pieces have also gone on this week, we had our first batch of winter Lyle & Scott arrive, classic crew necks in classic colours, we’ve added an F1 red Baracuta G9 to the range, there’s also a chestnut leather Superga 2750 with pig skin lining, and few more D’artisan T shirts and an ace Chambray shirt. Finally, some restocks; Nudie Straight Sven and Edwin 77 have been replenished in the denim department, and we’ve just this second received a large delivery of Sunspel underwear, filling in most of the gaps we had there.

That just leaves us to mention that the SALE is entering its final days, there are real bargains to be had, the SALE page is well worth a browse.

We’re falling over boxes in the stockroom so there’ll be plenty to show you next week, we’ve clocked Belstaff and Fjallraven so it’s going to be good.

See you then
