Perry Boys - Ian Hough

Review From Amazon

Just finished this and must say I recommend it totally. The best of its kind by far, and if you are interested in the very beginning of the casual movement you have to read this book. No endless and repetitive stories of "we went there and did them, got nicked, we went here and did them got nicked again, etc" but instead a proper romp through all aspects of the culture and how it came to be. Not sure about the very literate reviewer here who says there's not enough to keep the reader's interests - totally untrue for me. Maybe someone who has not succeeded with his own efforts I think wrote that review? From the thieving and the Euro trips, to the later rave scene, it is obvious that this writer was there at the beginning of both.
There's even a section about "old" Salford for people interested in the regional character, and yes quite a bit on Liverpool as well. The writer is definitely a real writer because he tells the vivid tale like no other I have read in this subject. The stuff about how drugs affect the system, and the genetic tangents are what put this one above the rest. As far as I'm concerned this has raised the bar on so-called "hooligan" literature, and about time. God bless Milo!!! This one is a gemstone!
