This month we chat to Ravi from the
famous Stuarts of London Store
www.stuartslondon.com

How long has the website been going?
The
website has been live for two years
What is your all time biggest selling brand?
That's a
hard question as I've a got a few brands that are pretty level
par
on high sell through.
If I had to pick one it's have to
be Fila Vintage. Back then in the 80s we
sold this label strong and even now 25 odd years later it's made
a huge
comeback. The team behind this brand are passionate about the
label, the
distribution is tight and it's been designed by a brand that has
its
customers
In mind.
Any news on when you are likely to
get the Lois delivery and have you had
many pre-orders?
Lois...What a great product...and a what a nightmare to deal
with. We sold
more than we could ever imagine on pre-order, were talking high
volume.
The delivery is once again delayed,...the company can't sort
issues out with
the factory, it may have to be re-produced by another
factory all over
again.
Our customers have been very understanding and loyal, we
wouldn't be what or
where we are today without them. (Thank-You guys)
What's your personal favourite label?
My
Personal fav!!...that's really hard to answer. I usually
buy labels into
the store that I like and love. Labels that have quality
production and key
style that is directional.
If I have to choose it's split between Baracuta, Fila, Gabicci,
Farah, and
Pringle.
How About trainers?
I love
adidas, but as we don't sell them yet..I can't comment on
them much.
At the moment I am wearing my limited
edition Borg originals..quality
What do you think will be the label of 2009?
Label of 2009,
mmmmm let see if my magic wand works, if I
knew the
answer to that question year on year I'd be a Billionaire.
I Forecast Barbour making a great comeback and Pringle has gone
back to its
roots with some great heritage styles. I've always favoured
Pringle over
Lyle and Scott, and it will be great to see them make a
comeback. There
are a few more hits on the way...but then that would telling
all...lol
In the past we have found a massive
difference between North and South
trends have you noticed this in online orders? (if so please go
in to
detail's)
Yes there is a
fashion split between the north and south. Over the years on
some brands it's been a 50 - 50 split on others it's more a 70 -
30 split.
Brands such as Fjall Raven have been a great Northern seller.
Demographic
sales vary upon many key issue's where a brand performance is
determined.
Some brands are totally climate motivated, although London has
been very
cold this winter, It's colder up north, so heavy jackets sell
better or in
higher quantity up there.
Some brands are football motivated and certain teams are wearing
certain
labels. Fjall Raven has just started to work in London and we
are one of a
few to have it down here. Again the distribution is very tight.
There are
only about three southern accounts.
Stuartslondon.com would like to say
Thanks to all the lads and ladettes that have supported the
store over its
life and we wish to say a big thank you for making all this
happen. As long
as Our customers are happy we'll continue putting in the hard
work.
